Thorn & Thunder was born from a frustration most jewellery lovers know well: the gap between pieces that look beautiful and pieces that *feel* like you.
Founder Claire Harrison spent years working as a beauty and fashion photographer, immersed in a world of visual storytelling. She loved gemstones, their colour, their weight, their power. But she couldn't find jewellery that held both things she wanted at once: the raw, natural energy of crystals and minerals, and the dark, unapologetic edge of rock and roll. Everything was either too precious or too throwaway. Too delicate or too costume.
So she made it herself.
The name came naturally. A thorn is beautiful and dangerous in the same breath. Thunder is elemental, something you feel before you hear it. That tension is the heartbeat of every piece we make: nature's beauty and nature's force, worn as one.
We sit between worlds on purpose.
Demi fine jewellery occupies the space between fast fashion accessories and investment fine jewellery, and we think it's the most honest place to be. Our pieces are made with rhodium-or ruthenium-plated sterling silver and 18ct gold vermeil: real materials with real longevity, designed to be worn every day, not kept in a box for special occasions.
This isn't a compromise. It's a conviction. Jewellery should be lived in; stacked, layered, worn through work and weekends, through rituals and late nights. Our pieces are built for that. Hypoallergenic, tarnish-resistant, and crafted to last.

Nature forged into metal
Every collection starts with the natural world: the geometry of a mineral cross-section, the weight of storm clouds, the way light catches on raw crystal. Claire's background in photography runs through everything, a trained eye for texture, shadow, and the moment when something ordinary becomes arresting.
Our aesthetic lives in contrast. Raw and refined. Rough-hewn and precise. We blend oxidised metals with polished finishes, incorporate genuine power stones and crystals, and design pieces that carry intention.
We believe jewellery can hold meaning, that what you wear close to your body is never purely decorative. Whether you're drawn to the energetic properties of crystals or simply to the way a piece makes you stand taller, we design for that feeling.
The Craft & Materials

Our pieces are made in small batches with deliberate care. We work with trusted artisan partners and use materials we can stand behind: rhodium- and ruthenium-plated sterling silver and 18ct gold vermeil, set with ethically sourced gemstones and crystals selected for quality and character.

Small batches mean we can be hands-on at every stage, from the first sketch to the final finish. When a style sells out, we restock it, but never in a rush, and never at the expense of quality. Every run gets the same attention as the first.
Ethically Sourcing
We're committed to doing this the right way, which for us means being honest about our process, building relationships with suppliers we trust, and continuously improving how we source and create. We're a small brand, not a perfect one, but we care deeply about both.
The Team
While working on set, Claire noticed something happening around her: women from all parts of the industry; styling, set design, production, makeup sharing the same quiet conversations about identity, expression, and the difficulty of finding jewellery that actually represented them.
Those conversations became a collective. Thorn & Thunder is built by a team of women from the creative industries, each bringing a different skill set design, styling, branding, storytelling , and a shared belief that jewellery should mean something.
We work closely together, move in the same direction, and genuinely love what we're building. The connections we make behind the scenes are the same ones we hope our jewellery helps you feel: to yourself, to other people, and to the natural world you carry with you.
